Who we are literalGenesis is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching the foundational truths recorded for us in the first eleven chapters of the first book of the Bible—Genesis. Since 2001, literalGenesis has been raising awareness of the issues surrounding evolutionary thinking (Darwinian) and the consequences of compromise among Christians in this area. At literalGenesis, we encourage all to investigate the evidences through a Biblical worldview rather than a purely naturalistic approach. Compare and decide for yourself which one yields the more satisfying results!
What we believe We believe that the Bible is the infallible, inerrant Word of God and that it contains everything mankind needs pertaining to life and godliness. Although the Bible is not a scientific textbook, we believe it provides the proper framework from which we initiate and interpret scientific endeavors. We believe that the historical sciences are not fully equipped to deal with the questions surrounding origins. Reliable eyewitness testimony is necessary in order to fully understand events of the past for which we have no direct observation. We believe the Bible to be the only trustworthy source for the testimony of our beginnings.
Why it matters Many Christians have compromised scripture in an attempt to harmonize the teachings of man with those from God. Such practices inevitably lead to additional compromise over time. Eventually, the decision is made to either continue the exhausting practice of compromise or to abandon scripture altogether. Unfortunately, many of America’s Christian youth—and adults—choose the latter. But, there is another choice! Christians do not need to feel intimidated to compromise because of ‘science’. Historical science ultimately rests on assumptions—this is far different from the operational sciences responsible for medicine, computers, and spacecraft. The naturalistic worldview is opposed to the Biblical worldview – and they cannot both be true. The compromises involved in the former could have eternal consequences. That is why it matters.
