Many scientists admit to having frothy speculations of life on Mars at some point in their careers. Images of advanced alien life on the fourth planet from the Sun were conjured by astronomers for decades. Now that we have sent many, many probes to this frozen planet, what are scientists now saying about the possibility of life on Mars? While some cling to dwindling hopes of life – any life, advanced or not – most have given up on Mars and have turned their attention elsewhere in the Solar System and beyond. Of course, as everyone knows, if life exists anywhere else in the cosmos – there must be water to sustain such life. But water can take several forms: liquid, vapor, and ice for example.
